About the Role

We are seeking a strategic Application Product Manager to lead the ownership and lifecycle management of enterprise COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) applications. This role serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring systems are aligned with organizational goals, user needs, and compliance requirements.

You will drive product strategy, roadmap execution, and continuous improvement across critical enterprise platforms such as ERP, EAM, and CRM systems. This role focuses on governance, delivery, and value realization, with strong cross-functional collaboration and influence across teams.


Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own and manage the enterprise application portfolio
  • Define product vision, roadmaps, and enhancement priorities
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions
  • Track KPIs/OKRs including system performance, adoption, and value delivery

Application Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee full lifecycle: planning, implementation, optimization, and retirement
  • Manage and prioritize application backlogs, enhancements, and defects
  • Lead evaluation and selection of new solutions, including vendor assessments
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning

Delivery & Governance

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver system implementations and upgrades
  • Establish and maintain SLAs, support models, and escalation processes
  • Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and data governance standards
  • Align delivery practices with organizational policies and methodologies

Integration & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee application integrations (APIs, middleware, batch processes)
  • Ensure proper monitoring, documentation, and error handling
  • Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and process artifacts

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Lead change management, training, and user adoption efforts
  • Provide executive-level updates, portfolio reporting, and project status
  • Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and business teams
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related field (experience may substitute up to four years)
  • 5+ years of experience in application/product management or enterprise systems
  • Experience managing or supporting large-scale platforms (ERP, EAM, CRM, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, hybrid, waterfall)
  • Experience with vendor management, SaaS platforms, and enterprise applications
  • Strong project/program management and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

  • Public sector or regulated environment experience
  • Experience with procurement processes (RFI/RFP) and business case development
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking for IT initiatives
  • Experience leading enterprise system transformation or modernization efforts

Work Environment

  • Onsite, Monday–Friday in a professional office setting
  • Fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Occasional on-call support may be required
