Salary: Around $90K, depending on experience
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, reporting in on T/TH every week with the exception of the first week of the month, where they report in every day
Job Summary:
The Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for preparing financial reports for the credit union and its subsidiaries, assisting in the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and supporting various financial reporting initiatives. This role requires a solid understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, and reporting processes. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external auditors, analyze financial trends, and ensure the accuracy of financial data..
Essential Functions:
- Utilize PC-based applications to prepare and update financial reports and other time-sensitive documentation.
- Produce financial, statistical, and operational analysis, as well as special reports and projects as requested by management or other departments.
- Perform peer review/tie-out of financial reports prepared by other team members.
- Assist in the maintenance of general ledger accounts and structure within the general ledger software.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors in the preparation of fiscal-year end financial reports.
- Analyze trends, researching and documenting explanations for changes/variances.
- Research accounting and reporting guidance; determine appropriate accounting for transactions.
- Prepare sample selection from general ledger software for journal entry review.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of GAAP.
- Develop/enhance understanding of how a financial institution operates.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 1 - 2 years financial reporting/audit experience
- CPA eligible
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to complete multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports
- Capable of working on assigned work with minimal assistance
Preferred:
- 2 - 4 years public accounting experience, financial institution audit experience a plus
- CPA license
