Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the organization's financial performance.

    • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to management based on financial trends and forecasts.

  • General Ledger Management:

    • Oversee the reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

    • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments prepared by junior staff members.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with departmental leaders to align financial goals with organizational objectives.

    • Monitor budget variances and provide explanations and recommendations for corrective action as needed.

  • Audit and Compliance:

    • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

  • Process Improvement and Efficiency:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in accounting processes, driving efficiency and accuracy.

    • Implement best practices and recommend changes to policies and procedures to streamline financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting, analysis, and general ledger management.

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial accounting principles, with the ability to apply them effectively.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in a corporate accounting environment, preferably in a large or publicly traded company.

  • Knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) concepts and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and financial reporting tools.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of accounting and finance.
