Title of Position: Security Analyst IIDepartment: IT Security
Reports to: Director of IS
Overall Responsibility: The responsibility of the Security Analyst monitors server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interprets activity and make recommendations for Completes Risk Assessments of information technology resources and develops remediation plans for sub-compliant systems and resources. The security analyst is responsible for analyzing the threat, mitigating the treat, and then securing it from coming through the system again

Qualifications:Proficient in performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments. Maintains an awareness of existing and proposed security standard settings, state and federal legislation, and regulations pertaining to information security. Identifies regulatory changes that will affect information security policy, standards and procedures, and recommends appropriate changes. Excellent technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies such as network security appliances, anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance tools, and desktop security tools, to include security administration and reporting tools used to manage Active Directory. In-depth knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles as they apply to business needs for security controls. Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures, and standards.
